Bridging the Gap
Some students were keen to build the Roman Arch:
We decided to explore more about bridges. Today we learnt about dead load (the bridge on its own) and live load (traffic on the bridge). We used a toy car, a bridge and a pair of kitchen scales to see how the load changes as the car moves from one end of the bridge to the other. We recorded our results in a table:
The Power of Pulleys
We have been discovering how pulleys work in our science lessons. We decided to set up our own pulleys in the classroom and sent messages and notes to our friends across the room.
