Loving Learning

The boys love to share their stories after writer's circle.

They also like to measure to see how tall they are.

Some students learnt how to tell how old a tree is.

One student came in day after day to build a cube of 1000 blocks. This work was done whilst teaching another student how to tell the time!

Pin maps are always popular in the classroom.

Moonstruck!

Some of the students opted in to a Phases of the Moon lesson. We went into a dark place to see how the moon appears to change shape depending on how the earth turns.

Practical Life Thursday

So today we did a lot of practical life lessons.
We started the day with a discussion around group times and how to solve the problem of disruptions during group. Our tamariki brainstormed how they felt about group times, why groups were important and came up with creative solutions to the problem.

During the course of the morning we also learnt how to clean our fish tank.
Our older students helped younger ones with cutting vegetables for our hummus.
Then we made hummus from scratch. One student was amazed that you could actually make hummus!
